Watercolor takes more time than I would like, especially if you only get in a couple hours of work on it squeezed in between regular doodling and sketching.

Long time contributor, Rubin Pingk has been pretty involved with #kidlitart, which is a live Twitter chat Thursdays at 9:00 pm Eastern, for children's book illustrators, picture book authors, author/illustrators and friends.
